Rate limits
Per-minute rate limits and monthly request allowances for each eBay Sold Listings API plan, and how Unlimited fair use works.
Each plan has a per-minute rate limit and a monthly request allowance. Short bursts are fine as long as the last 60
seconds stay under the limit. Exceed it and you get 429 rate_limited with a Retry-After header, so back off and
retry. Every successful response also carries X-Usage-Remaining with what is left this month.
| Plan | Rate | Monthly requests |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 30 per minute | 50 |
| Starter | 60 per minute | 3,000 |
| Growth | 60 per minute | 15,000 |
| Pro | 60 per minute | 40,000 |
| Scale | 120 per minute | 100,000 |
| Unlimited | 120 per minute | Unlimited (fair use) |
Unlimited fair use
The first 300,000 requests in a billing period run at 120 requests per minute. After that the plan keeps working at 60
requests per minute until the period resets, and responses carry X-Fair-Use: throttled.
Staying under the limit
- For large catalogs, use batch jobs rather than pushing the rate.
- Honour
Retry-Afteron429instead of retrying straight away. See Timeouts and retries. - Check what is left any time with
GET /account/usage. It is free.
